Abt Associates seeks qualified candidates to fill a position for the USAID Health Service Delivery in Jordan, a five-year program.

Position Title: Maternal Mortality Surveillance and Response (MMSR) Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to stakeholders (Ministry of Health (MOH), Royal Medical Services (RMS) and Private Hospitals) in all steps of system implementation including notification of deaths among women of reproductive age, identification of maternal deaths, review and analysis of factors contributing to and reasons for maternal deaths, and the production of national responses to eliminate preventable maternal deaths.
  • Coordinate and support high-level meetings with Government of Jordan officials and counterparts from different sectors.
  • Review and update all Jordan Maternal Mortality Surveillance and Response System (JMMSR) Training Curriculum materials.
  • Produce technical and logistic progress reports, official communications and letters, and other material as needed
  • Liaise between counterparts and USAir) Health Service Delivery information technology team in implementing the JMMSR information system.
  • Monitor overall program progress, including overall objectives and budgets, according to the USAID Health Service Delivery work plans
Qualifications:
  • Degree in medicine, nursing, midwifery or other health area with at least 5 years of experience required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written English and Arabic are required.
  • Experience in program development and implementation, data analysis and quality improvement preferred.
  • Work experience in USAID or other donor-funded health programs also preferred.
