Regional Information and Communications Officer - Jordanian Only
The Opportunity
The Information and Communications Officer role is to deliver vital information and communication products covering the Middle East and Eastern Europe (MEE) region’s emergency responses that enable excellent media and fundraising activities for Members and across Save the Children International. The Information and Communications Officer will coordinate communications outputs such as situation reports and key messages and take a lead on information management tasks. She/he will also support communications and media activities through translation of Arabic/English materials, media monitoring, supporting in content gathering and building relations with regional media contacts.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
  • Support the development of Information and Communications Materials on the humanitarian crises across the Middle East and Eastern Europe region
  • Act as focal point for the coordination and dissemination of Middle East and Eastern Europe country situation reports and information snapshots
  • Updating internal information management tools with relevant information from the situation reports
  • Ensure that Country Offices are producing timely, accurate and high quality situation reports (sitreps), coordinate and distribute the sitreps to humanitarian communications focal points across the organization
  • Lead on the production of dashboards, snapshots and other information products for the MEE Region
  • Produce accurate, clear and consistent information and communication outputs relating to Save the Children’s responses and programmes – including key messages, context updates, briefings and factsheets
  • Uploading of materials onto the humanitarian section of Onenet and assist in uploading communications materials to other relevant platforms such as Content Hub and Workplace
  • Support in keeping Middle East and Eastern Europe Regional Office’s Twitter account updated
  • Liaise with and support country office Onenet and website focal points to ensure country pages are regularly updated
  • Assist with translations of simple documents as needed
  • Arabic media monitoring
  • Building up a network of contacts in Arabic media
  • Support the Advocacy, Media and Communications team with organisation of meetings when needed
  • Participate in Humanitarian Advocacy Working Group (HAWG) meetings and take the minutes of the meetings as needed
We offer a competitive package in the context of the sector, this role is offered on the basis of national terms and conditions only, and the contract length is 12 months.
